Long bio

Emilie Haney grew up with a love of stories shaped by Star Trek, Nancy Drew, and plenty of time outdoors. She turned that love into a career spanning novels, cover design, photography, podcasting, and teaching. Today she lives in Indiana and writes across speculative and contemporary fiction under three names: E. A. Hendryx for Young Adult science fiction and fantasy; Emilie Haney for romantic suspense and cozy mystery; and Bell Renshaw for sweet romance and rom-com.

Her Xerus Galaxy Saga (as E. A. Hendryx) follows no-spice romance, action, and adventure against a galactic backdrop, beginning with Suspended in the Stars and continuing through Falling Through the Black, Rising From the Galaxy, and related titles. She also creates science fantasy such as the Dragons in Space serial and has additional romantasy and cozy fantasy projects underway. Under her own name she writes stories where love fights for what’s right, including Expired Promise and Serial Heat. As Bell Renshaw she invites readers into small-town romance worlds such as Winter, Montana, Lockwood Lodge, Justin Harbor, and the upcoming Melodies of Montana series.

Beyond the page, Emilie is a book cover and promotional designer for indie and traditional authors, a natural-light photographer with more than a decade of experience, and a speaker who has presented at events including the American Christian Fiction Writers national conference. Favorite topics include Kickstarter for authors (she has raised over $50,000 across multiple bookish Kickstarters), writing productivity, platform building, promotional design, and Amazon A+ content. She hosts Productivity & Prose and co-hosts The Margins with Christen Krumm, and she connects with readers and makers through CreateExploreRead shops and community.
